Korean with friends: 100 beginner sentences for plans, messages and reactions

Train the short Korean sentences that keep a friendship moving: making plans, replying to messages, reacting naturally, checking on someone and saying no without sounding cold.

What this deck teaches

Social Korean is less about difficult vocabulary and more about timing, tone and sentence endings. A reply can be grammatically correct but still sound distant if the ending does not fit the relationship.

The deck covers catching up, making and changing plans, messaging, phone calls, feelings, preferences, reactions, favors, permission, refusals and clarification. Each answer is a complete line that works in spoken conversation.

Use Listen mode to notice warmth and politeness in the endings. Then use Speak mode to retrieve the Korean from the English prompt quickly enough to keep a real exchange moving.

How to study Korean with friends

  1. Group by social job. Practise invitations, reactions, requests and refusals as separate groups so each tone stays consistent.
  2. Keep replies quick. Try to answer within a beat before checking the card.
  3. Say messages aloud. Speak a message reply first, then type it once if you also want writing practice.
  4. Use your real plans. Replace the time, place or activity with details from your own conversations.
