Privacy Policy
How VoiceCards handles your data — what we collect, where it lives, and the rights you have.
Last updated 2026-05-11
1. Overview
VoiceCards collects some data to track your learning progress and provide a personalized experience. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
1.1 Core principles
- Card content (questions/answers) lives in your own Google Drive; VoiceCards servers do not store it.
- VoiceCards does not record audio (speech recognition is handled by the OS).
- Learning analytics and account info are stored on VoiceCards servers.
- We do not sell personal information to third parties.
2. Information we collect
When you sign in with Google, the following is stored on VoiceCards servers. If you use the app without signing in, only a device identifier and anonymous usage events are collected.
2.1 Account information
- Google user ID and email address.
- References to the Google Drive folder and sheets that hold your card data.
- Nickname, avatar, preferences, onboarding progress.
- Credit balance and purchase history.
2.2 Learning activity and analytics
- Learning statistics (study count, accuracy, exam results, etc.).
- Anonymous usage events (app version, platform, language, IP address, country, etc.).
- Prompt text you provide when generating cards with AI (not retained after processing).
3. How we use information
We use the data we collect to:
- Provide learning progress and statistics tracking.
- Operate friends and leaderboard features.
- Process AI card generation and credit deduction/refunds.
- Respond to customer inquiries such as refunds and account deletion.
- Improve service quality and detect abuse.
Important: marketing emails are sent only after separate opt-in.
4. Voice recognition
VoiceCards uses the operating system's speech recognition so you can answer cards by voice.
- Speech recognition is provided by the OS (Apple/Google).
- VoiceCards does not record audio.
- Only the OS-transcribed text is used to compare against the card answer.
- How the OS handles speech recognition is governed by Apple's and Google's policies.
- If you prefer not to use voice, you can navigate cards manually.
5. Third-party services
VoiceCards relies on the following external services to operate.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to third parties under any circumstances.
- Google: sign-in, Drive/Sheets storage, AI card generation — governed by Google's privacy policy.
- Apple App Store / Google Play: payment processing — VoiceCards does not directly hold payment information.
Voice data is never transmitted to any third party.
6. Data security
Your data is protected by the following measures. No system can guarantee perfect security, but we work to maintain industry-standard protection.
- Encryption in transit and at rest.
- Per-user data access isolation.
- Permission-based access controls for sensitive operations.
- Hosted on infrastructure with industry security certifications.
- Regular security reviews and updates.
7. Data retention and deletion
Collected data is retained as follows.
If you request account deletion, we remove all identifying data from VoiceCards servers. Card data stored in your own Google Drive remains under your Google account, and you can manage it yourself.
- Account information: while your account is active.
- Learning analytics: deleted together with your account.
- Anonymous usage events: auto-deleted after a defined period.
- Voice recordings: not stored.
