US Citizenship Test 2025: all 128 civics questions, out loud
The naturalization civics test is spoken: a USCIS officer asks up to 20 of these 128 questions and you answer out loud, needing 12 correct to pass. This deck holds all 128 so you can practice the way the test actually happens — hearing the question, saying the answer.
What this deck teaches
On October 20, 2025 USCIS moved to the 2025 version of the civics test. The pool grew from 100 questions to 128, the officer now asks up to 20 instead of 10, and you need 12 correct instead of 6. If you filed Form N-400 before that date you still take the 2008 version; anyone who applied on or after takes this one.
Every card here is a question straight from the official USCIS list, paired with an accepted answer. The set covers American government (principles, the system of government, rights and responsibilities), American history (the colonial period and independence, the 1800s, recent history), and American symbols and holidays.
All USCIS test material is a work of the U.S. government and free to use. Answers that name a current officeholder, or that depend on the state you live in, change over time — check uscis.gov/citizenship/testupdates and your own state before your interview.
How to study us citizenship test 2025 (all 128) with VoiceCards
- Listen through the whole set first. Open the deck in Listen mode and let it read each question and then the answer. Hearing the officer's question in your ear, hands-free on a commute or while cooking, is the closest thing to the real interview you can get before you sit in the room.
- Answer out loud, not in your head. Switch to Speak mode. See only the question, say the answer aloud, then reveal the card. The civics test is oral — the officer asks and you answer by speaking — so practicing silently trains the wrong skill.
- Short daily sets, not one long cram. Ten or fifteen questions a day beats one marathon session. Spread the deck over the weeks before your interview and you will still have the answers on the day.
- Loop the ones that come out shaky. Star anything you hesitate on and give it an extra Listen pass the next morning. A question you can answer cleanly three days running is one you can stop studying.
