OPIc role play phrases for Japanese speakers
OPIc role play is not a speech. It is a practical conversation task. This deck trains the question and request phrases Japanese speakers need for reservations, prices, changes, problems and follow-up checks.
What this deck teaches
Role-play prompts often require several questions in a row. The hard part is not vocabulary; it is starting politely, asking for details, confirming information, explaining a problem and ending the call naturally.
The cards cover hotel rooms, restaurants, gym memberships, English classes, returns, doctor appointments, event tickets and delivery problems. Each scenario repeats with different conversation functions so the pattern becomes automatic.
Because the answers are complete spoken requests, the deck works especially well in Listen mode before Speak mode. Hear the politeness and rhythm first, then produce it.
How to practice role plays
- Practice as a phone call. Say each answer as if you are calling a real person. Tone and politeness matter in role play.
- Ask follow-up questions. After one card, add one extra question of your own. Role plays rarely stop at a single sentence.
- Drill repair phrases. Repeat the problem, repeat and check cards often. They are what keep a role play alive when something changes.
