Korean naturalization: practice for the KIIP comprehensive evaluation
The naturalization review in Korea uses the comprehensive evaluation of the Social Integration Program (사회통합프로그램, KIIP) (Enforcement Rules of the Nationality Act, Article 4). This deck is a set of practice questions we wrote over the range that evaluation covers. Each question is in Korean, and each answer is a Korean sentence you say out loud.
What this deck teaches
The questions follow the subjects the evaluation is built on: Korean society and culture, the constitution and the political system, the economy, everyday law, the rules that apply to foreign residents, Korean history, and geography. They are not copied from the test. We wrote them ourselves and checked every answer against current statutes on the National Law Information Center, government pages and encyclopedia entries.
The answers are full sentences rather than single words. Saying the whole sentence trains the vocabulary of each topic along with the fact, and that vocabulary is what both the written evaluation and the interview rely on.
The cards are Korean on both sides, with no translation column, because the evaluation is taken in Korean. If you can answer a card out loud without looking, you can also read it on the test.
This is an independent practice deck. It is not made by or affiliated with the Ministry of Justice or any other body that administers the test or the interview.
How to prepare for Korean naturalization with VoiceCards
- Listen through once first. Open a deck in Listen mode and let it read each question and answer in Korean, hands-free. Hearing the material once before you test yourself makes the longer questions easier to follow.
- Say the whole sentence. Switch to Speak mode. You see the question and say the answer out loud. Say the full sentence on the card, not just the key word: the interview listens to how you speak Korean, and the evaluation uses the same vocabulary.
- Make the example answers yours. In the interview deck, seven answers are marked [예시 답]. Replace them with your own facts in your copy of the sheet, then practise your version until you can say it without reading.
- A little every day. Twenty or thirty cards a day over a few weeks works better than one long session. Star the cards you miss and run them again the next morning.
